If we as a school are moving to an online environment, the students should only have ONE wiki log in with as many wikis as are necessary. \nYou are absolutely right about engaging students in meaningful activities! I think that too often we assume they can't do something technologically, hold their hand or worse, do it for them. We all know how hard it can be to track our colleagues down and have an appropriate amount of time to pick their mind for resources and information. If we had an online learning community we could post our activities and resources or ask questions of our colleagues so that they can answer the questions on their time when they have time to properly dedicate to the discussion.

\nI do also think county wide is nice. We only get a small amount of county wide days to work with our colleagues and collaborate, but if we had county wide learning communities for contents than we could become more cohesive and continuous among all the teachers in the county. I know for the foreign language department we have a wiki where we post resources for our curriculums. Content based Wiki would be great. I just don't think we have discovered the wonders of Wiki. Now we have more teachers utilizing it and making it worth while. Just like anything it is something that takes time and certain motivated people to get it rolling and others hopefully join. I know how frustrating it can be to be one of the only ones contributing and not receiving any resources back. Hopefully you can get more buy in and contributions with the more time that goes by. I'm not sure how to have them prove that. Teachers also need to prove they are aware of our school wide expectations. I think students and parents need to be financially responsible if a computer is damaged - text books have to be paid for.

\nI think the expectations need to be posted at every computer station and reviewed on a continual basis. Again everyone has to be on the same page telling students the same thing every time they sit down at a computer. For students who have read to accommodations they can listen to these expectations from a Word Document.
